Best Dallas Real Estate Headshots

As an experienced and award-winning headshot photographer in Dallas, TX, I have photographed many real estate agents. The fact remains that real estate is a schedule-flexible career choice that remains quite strong and potentially very lucrative. The Dallas area real estate market is strong - one of the strongest on the planet, in fact!

This is leading many to get in on the real estate profits lying all around them. I know that the real estate marketplace in Dallas, TX is so strong that even European investment firms are targeting and buying up Dallas area real estate because it is expected to go up and up in value!

Indoor or Outdoor Real Estate headshots?

Most real estate headshots are done in studio (meaning my downtown Dallas headshot photo studio of course). Often, real estate headshots have either a white, or off white background - that way your headshot looks open and contemporary - clean where the neutral colored background will not clash when it appears on any color scheme of any website.

So when are headshots taken outdoors? So glad you asked: there are two main ways. First, it's when your firm has gone with that style. Second, when you are more of an independent realtor, with a small or larger brokerage, but not part of a corporate team, and want to emphasize a more approachable/welcoming feel to your Dallas real estate headshot.

So if you are not in the studio, the question becomes about what your background should be. Now, in any case, your real estate headshot is taken with a portrait lens that intentionally blurs it out - not toally, but gives an impression. So, for professional real estate headshots, that outdoor (not in-studio) style of headshot will have one of 3 types of backgrounds:
  1. An example of the type of real estate you sell: high-end residential? commercial elevation? Pick the main type of property you want to be associated with.
  2. Some nice nature in the background: could just be greenery, or other scenic setting. While this does make for a "pretty" photo, it is not intrinsically linking your photo to your real estate services.
  3. An indoor lobby or atrium of a commercial building
See examples of these here: and as you can see, this outdoor type of portrait is best suited for putting into ads (online or magazine), as it can be taken "wide", this allowing for text or photos to appear to the left/right of you.

The bottom line:

Your real estate headshot needs to project the right image -- to say the right "message" about you. Your professionalism.
